6.1.1 General Arrangements

When designing the wrapping transmission drive, the center line of both sprockets should be close to horizontal. The angle of inclination may be up to 60°. The slack should be on the lower side.

The center distance of the sprockets should be 30 to 50 times the pitch of the chain. When the chain is subjected to fluctuating load, the center distance of the sprockets should be less than 20 times the chain pitch. This is shown in Figure 6.1.
